Gabrielle Lester

Gabrielle Lester (Leader) is also the Leader of Sinfonia 21 and the Michael Nyman Band. She has been Guest Leader of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bournemouth Symphony, and the BBCSO, and she has appeared as soloist with the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra at the Proms and throughout Europe. Her recording of works by Schubert with Gidon Kremer was issued on the Deutsche Gramophone label.

Jeremy Polmear
B/W photo of Jeremy Polmear Jeremy Polmear (oboe) has made three recordings of 19th virtuoso and romantic oboe music, one of 20th century English music, and one of Mozart chamber music featuring the oboe. He does regular tours with the pianist Diana Ambache and has performed in 33 countries on five continents.

He has played with a number of chamber orchestras such as the London Mozart Players, the City of London Sinfonia and the Northern Sinfonia.

He is active in using the Arts as a business management training tool, and in 2002 launched Oboe Classics, a CD label celebrating the world of the oboe.

Stephen Stirling
B/W photo of Stephen Stirling Stephen Stirling is Principal Horn with the City of London Sinfonia, and a member of the Endymion Ensemble, the Fibonacci Sequence and Capricorn. He has appeared as soloist with the Academy of St-Martin-in-the-Fields and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. His recording of the Brahms Horn Trio was nominated for a 'Gramophone' award. He has recorded all five of Mozart's Horn Concertos, and, as a founder member of the COE Wind Soloists, he has recorded Mozart's entire music for wind ensemble.

Martin Outram
Martin Outram (viola) is a member of the Maggini String Quartet and a Professor of the Royal Academy of Music. The Maggini recently received a 'Gramophone' award for their recording of Vaughan Williams Quartets. He has played widely as a soloist at home and abroad and has given important broadcast premieres of works for solo viola by Benjamin Britten and Peter Maxwell Davis.

Ruth Ehrlich
Ruth Ehrlich (second violin) has a wide ranging career in Europe and America. She has performed as member or guest member of several chamber music groups including the Fairfield Quartet (as Leader), the Nash Ensemble and Jeux. Ruth is actively involved with two groups pioneering the performance of contemporary music. In 2003 she led the Almeida Ensemble's première of Jurgen Simpson's opera ‘Thwaite'; and with Apartment House she gave premières of Quartets by Helmut Oehring and Jennifer Walsh at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival and the Wien Modern in Vienna.
